Training for Psychologists
Psychological Support and Resilience in Working with Public Leaders
This two-day course aims to prepare psychologists to work with politicians, public figures and leaders who are subject to constant public pressure, media attention and online attacks. During the training, we will become familiar with the specific psychological challenges in the political environment and will master methods for support, stabilization and building resilience when working with public figures.
We will examine real situations from political life, analyze the psychological mechanisms of public pressure and develop practical skills for working with stress, online aggression and emotional exhaustion in leaders.
Day 1 – Psychology of Public Pressure and Hate Speech
During the first day, we will become familiar with the specifics of psychological pressure on politicians and public figures. We will analyze the influence of the media environment, social networks and hate speech on the mental health of leaders.
We will examine the main psychological reactions to constant public criticism and explore the relationship between chronic stress, anxiety and burnout in the political environment. We will learn how to psychologically assess the level of stress and emotional exhaustion in public leaders and how to recognize signs of psychological vulnerability.
We will learn techniques for stabilizing the nervous system that can be used when working with politicians after public conflicts, media attacks or strong public pressure. We will also look at cognitive-behavioral techniques for working with negative thoughts, self-criticism and internal tension.
Day 2 – Psychological support and building leadership resilience
On the second day, we will focus on practical strategies for psychological support of public leaders. We will learn methods for working with online aggression, trolling and digital pressure and develop approaches to creating healthy information boundaries.
We will learn how to support politicians in managing stress during public appearances, debates and media conflicts. We will work on techniques for emotional regulation, recovery from public attacks and maintaining concentration under strong public pressure.
We will develop practical models for building long-term psychological resilience in leaders, including strategies for preventing burnout and maintaining a balance between the public role and private life.
At the end of the training, we will create a framework for psychological work with politicians and formulate basic principles for ethical and professional support of public figures.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, participants will be able to better understand the psychological challenges facing public leaders, apply effective stress management techniques and build strategies for psychological resilience when working with politicians and public figures.
