Job shadowing program

Peer Observation Program in the Department of Psychology

Module 1: Introduction to the monitoring process

  • Module objectives: To familiarize participants with the basic principles and goals of observation in an academic environment. To explain ethical standards and procedures.
  • Contents:
    • Basics of Academic Observation
    • How to ensure confidentiality
    • Overview of basic ethical norms in surveillance

Module 2: Evaluation of teaching methods

  • Module objectives: Analysis of different teaching styles and methods used in lectures and seminars.
  • Contents:
    • Overview of different pedagogical approaches in psychology
    • Measuring teaching effectiveness
    • Tools for monitoring teaching work

Module 3: Researching the scientific work of colleagues

  • Module objectives: Evaluation of scientific publications and research conducted by members of the department.
  • Contents:
    • Analysis of scientific articles and research
    • Evaluation of scientific projects
    • View ongoing and completed research

Module 4: Student Feedback

  • Module objectives: Collecting opinions and recommendations from students regarding the lecturers and the learning process.
  • Contents:
    • How to collect and analyze student feedback
    • Methods for conducting surveys and interviews
    • Review of the importance of student feedback

Module 5: Observation of consultations and therapy sessions

  • Module objectives: Evaluation of the consultative and therapeutic work of teachers.
  • Contents:
    • Overview of approaches to psychotherapeutic work in an academic setting
    • How to monitor counseling sessions
    • Basic criteria for effectiveness in psychotherapy

Module 6: Communication skills and interpersonal relationships

  • Module objectives: Analysis of teachers’ communication styles and skills.
  • Contents:
    • Assessment of interpersonal communication
    • Observation of group discussion dynamics and interaction
    • Developing effective communication skills

Module 7: Integration of new technologies in teaching

  • Module objectives: Observation of the use of new technologies in psychology education.
  • Contents:
    • Using online learning platforms
    • Interactive technologies in teaching
    • Evaluation of distance learning technologies

Module 8: Professional and personal qualities of teachers

  • Module objectives: Observation of personal qualities that influence teaching work.
  • Contents:
    • Assessment of leadership qualities and teamwork abilities
    • The role of emotional intelligence in teaching
    • How personal qualities influence professional performance

Module 9: Evaluation of interdisciplinary projects

  • Module objectives: Analysis of faculty participation in interdisciplinary research and projects.
  • Contents:
    • How to evaluate interdisciplinary projects
    • Opportunities for collaboration between different scientific fields
    • The role of psychology in interdisciplinary research

Module 10: Final review and recommendations for improvement

  • Module objectives: Review observations and provide constructive feedback and recommendations.
  • Contents:
    • Summary of observations from previous modules
    • Providing recommendations for professional development
    • Strategies for improving teaching and research work

Participants: 10  in the field of ADULT

The selection of participants will last until  30.01.2025. The group will consist of 10 participants

The selection method was chosen for the participants in the mobility, as it will be :

– by submitting a CV and an application

-Minimum B1 English

-to be member or volunteer of APB

-to have high motivation

  • the second stage – an interview with a committee.

Measures will be taken to prevent conflicts of interest with regard to those involved in the selection process for mobility participants.

All submitted documents (CVs and applications) of the candidates will be examined by the Commission and after approval of the first stage, the selected candidates will be invited for an interview. The selection method will ensure the selection of the most suitable participants to promote their knowledge, skills and competences in the field of balance between parenting and the career.
